Materials Management

The process for Requisition, Procurement, inventory, and contract are a part of this implementation. The seamless integration would ensure that all the financial value would flow to the respective entities.

Department in need of materials will raise a request with the details and PR (Purchase Requisition) gets generated. These PR’s will be converted to Enquiries and floated to vendors. The vendors could be from the list of preferred vendors or it can also be sent to new vendors.

Existing templates can be used for these enquiries. SAP system also allows in evaluation and finalization of the bids received. This procurement could be for packaged or tagged equipment, bulk equipment and also for service contracts. SAP MM module also takes care of the accurate inventory, issues and receipts. Almost all transaction on SAP leaves an audit trail which can be retrieved for information. The materials can be purchased for a particular project and can be stored with reference to that.

Sales & Distribution

Sales & Distribution (SD) is a module highly integrated with other SAP Modules as FI, CO, MM, PS & more. This can make SD a complex module, so as part of this Introduction we will also try to detail a normal sales process and how the activities integrate and are covered by this module.

The main areas covered by this module and the sub modules are:

• Pre-sales activities, including Inquiry and Quotation creation.
• Sales Order processing, including Sales Order (SO) creation.

Project System

Project System is one of the key modules of SAP to perform project and portfolio management. It helps you to manage the project life cycle starting from structuring to planning, execution, until the project completion. Project system is closely integrated with other SAP modules like logistics, material management, Sales and Distribution, Plant Maintenance, and Production planning module. It enables organizations to manage all SAP projects- large and small-scale projects efficiently. The Project Manager has a task to ensure that these projects are executed within budget and time and to ensure that resources are allocated to the project as per the requirement.
